Overdrive Officers

Steve McMahon, Katie Kramschuster, Terry Hintz, Ann Franke, Jim Blodgett

President: Ann Franke bought a road bike in 2005  at the urging of friends who convinced her biking would be a great way to stay in shape, have fun, and meet lots of wonderful people.  They were right!  Ann participates in many different biking events, including WiSport races, time-trials, tours, and century rides.  Far from a “lactic acid junkie” she enjoys the camaraderie of biking and prefers ”kinder, gentler rides.”   She also enjoys mountain biking, walking, cross-country and downhill skiing.  Ann works as an administrator for the Eau Claire School District and lives in Eau Claire with her husband, Paul and her slightly obese miniature dachshund, Hunter.

Vice President: Steve McMahon was born and raised in Eau Claire.  He is married to his wife, Leigh, and has two grown children.   He started biking at the age of three but has only taken it seriously in the past five years.  Steve loves to ride many different styles of bikes from recumbent to road bike to tandem.  Long distance is Steve’s strength when it comes to biking.  He bikes everyday (weather permitting) to work from Eau Claire to Chippewa where he is a Production Coordinator in a machine shop.  He also does the annual MS150 in Madison.  Steve has been a member of the Overdrive club for three years, but this is his first year as an officer.

Secretary: Katie Kramschuster is a school librarian in Menomonie, where she lives with her husband Adam and dog Lucy.  She began road bicycling in 2006 and enjoys exploring new places on long bike rides.  She also enjoys running, cross country skiing, swimming, and hiking.  Katie is looking forward to trying new things in the upcoming year, including longer triathlons and mountain biking.

Treasurer: Terry Hintz is a lifetime resident of Eau Claire. He owns and operates Eau Claire Bike & Sport on Water Street.  His wife Connie will confirm that his efforts to provide good customer service is high, since he spends a lot of time at the business. Terry enjoys all styles of cycling with the most time spent on off-road riding at places like Lowes Creek.

Previous President: Jim Blodgett started racing bikes in college after getting hurt wresting.  He raced for The Bike Doctor until 1993.  He came back to cycling in 2003, for health reasons.  After two and a half years as president, he will stay active in Overdrive, but will also take on some new challenges.  His son, Taylor and wife, Ruth are avid bikers, hikers and skiers.  Jim pays for his cycling habit as the network engineer for the Eau Claire Area School District.
